"Rush," owned by Ed & Esther Faraci © David Williams, All Rights Reserved Dean purchased his first English Springer Spaniel in 1980 after a number of years spent with Labradors. He began breeding under the Raintree prefix in 1988. Cathy owned her first pet Springer in 1979, but became serious about the dogs in 1989 when Regent was founded. Cathy acquired her first field-bred Springer in 1995, and became thoroughly hooked on this aspect of the breed. She is not currently active in the show ESS world. Raintree is dedicated to the sporting spaniel, with a desire to maintain the character of the breed true to its origins. We devote as much time to our dogs as we possibly can, given the constraints of earning the dogs a living! We breed a litter when we feel a certain match will produce a dog that we want to keep ourselves in furtherance of our breeding program; consequently we typically breed only one or two litters each year. Our primary goal for every puppy in every litter is that s/he will be a fine spaniel. Competition successes are wonderful, and we enjoy competing and watching our friends compete with our dogs, but we are likewise proud of the Raintree dogs that their owners prize as hunting buddies and/or as companions who amuse and comfort. We hope you’ll enjoy browsing our site and meeting some of our dogs. |
