When we learned that Pete Andersen was repeating the breeding of his Polly to Zorro in early 1997, we told Pete that if he had a black & white female in the litter to sign us up. On the morning of April 20, 1997, Pete called to say that Polly was whelping. Phone calls went back and forth throughout the day, and though there were female puppies, and a black and white male, it wasn’t until the last puppy was whelped that a black and white female made her appearance: thus, Field’s Edge Black Watch. Trust Piper to make an entrance!

She came home at seven weeks and stole Cathy’s heart when at the tender age of about 10 weeks, in an unfamiliar pond, she launched herself in a committed, full-out water entry to retrieve a baby dummy.

Piper & Cathy had a win and placements in the Amateur All-age, and two placements in Canada as well. Piper has also enjoyed - literally! - a successful conformation career with several wins in the field trial bitch class, never failing to greatly amuse the crowd with her antics.  She took the spring, 2002 season off to whelp her first litter (by Tigger), and we have good reports thus far.

We decided to share this lovely girl with Deb & Jim Brueggemann of Atlanta, GA.  She is now enjoying house princess status, and she and Deb successfully began their hunt test career in February, 2004.  Piper completed a Senior Hunter title, and is working on Master.
